Welcome to a Nordic restaurant and a boutique hotel in 18th century historic buildings on the Wanås Estate in Skåne in the south of Sweden. Wanås Hotel has eleven individually decorated rooms combining Nordic design and sustainability with locally sourced materials. Kitchen with organic and locally sourced produce from the forest and the on-site farm. Take a walk in the majestic beech forest and explore the renowned sculpture park on site. Lounge with fireplace, mudroom equipped with boots and rain jackets, starry winter nights and long Scandinavian summer nights. Wanås, pronounced "Vanoos" is situated in the south of Sweden 1,5 h from Malmö/Copenhagen.

To be as sustainable as possible, to offer you the very best of what we have, and to create truly personal experiences, this year will look a little different from the last.

In 2026, we welcome one party at a time — a family, a group of friends, an association, or a company. We will do our utmost, whenever you wish and wherever you wish. Breakfast in the open air, dinner surrounded by art, yoga in between — or anything else you might dream of.

Hosting one party at a time means booking the entire hotel. There is no online booking — instead, simply email us your wishes.

 For a few days this spring, 21–23 May, we welcome Hållfjället to Wanås, bringing their kitchen into ours by serving a four course menu and opening a pop-up wine bar.

Hållfjället is a small mountain lodge and restaurant in roadless country, where guests travel the last eight kilometers on foot, on skis or by snowmobile. A place shaped by the seasons, where what is grown, gathered and preserved becomes the foundation of the kitchen.

At Wanås, this way of working meets our own, rooted in the landscape, in the care for what is grown and raised here, and in the connection between food, nature and art.

Together, we create a menu where ingredients from the mountains meet spring greens from Skåne, along with what Wanås has to offer, not least beef from our own farm.

Hållfjället is led by Linda and Rodrigo Pérez, joined by Anders Andersson – all with experience from some of Sweden’s leading restaurants. Rodrigo and Anders work closely with the ingredients in the kitchen, combining a strong sense of place with a curiosity for new influences, while Linda brings her background in wine, both as a sommelier and writer.

Following their first winter season, Hållfjället has already been recognized internationally, including Best Newcomer List by Star Wine List and Best Gastronomic Hideaway at the Falstaff Awards.

The sculpture park bursts with colors and life, while our terrace beckons you to unwind during lazy evenings. Here, we serve refreshing cocktails, perfect to sip under the open sky as nature puts on its finest show.

 ART, ORGANIC FARM AND MEDIEVAL CASTLE

Wanås Restaurant Hotel opened in 2017 in two 18th century barns at the heart of Wanås. It is characterized by contemporary elegance – mixing vintage furniture, contemporary art, natural materials and rustic walls. In the hotel Nordic design meets sustainability, with materials and furniture sourced from the region. Wanås Estate is located in Skåne in the south of Sweden and easily accessed from Copenhagen. Wanås Castle has a history that goes back to medieval times and is today surrounded by a renowned sculpture park with an international collection. Wanås, pronounced "Vanoos" is situated 1,5 h from Malmö and Copenhagen. Travel to Wanås to Kristianstad Airport or to the international Copenhagen Airport where trains link to nearby Hässleholm. Nearest train stations are Hässleholm and Kristianstad.

Wanås Castle is situated on what was once the border between Sweden and Denmark and was a site for battles during the Danish-Swedish Wars in the 16th and 17th centuries. The castle burnt down, but was rebuilt in 1556. The Wanås Estate is organic and sustainable and Wanås is a sustainable destination.

The sculpture park was initiated by Marika Wachtmeister in 1987 and is today run by The Wanas Foundation – Wanås Konst. The permanent collection includes more than 70 site-specific works by artists from all over the world and is housed in the park, 18th century barns and farm buildings that surround Wanås Castle. In addition, there is a program with temporary exhibitions, performances, artists’ talks, workshops and guided tours in the park and in the Art Gallery.
